>> Chronology
The first Tibetan National Football Team was formed when there was an invitation from Dynamo Rock Group from Italy. 13 players, one manager and coach accompanied the team for a long week tour to Italy in the first week of June 1999. Along with the senior team under 13 team also went with the senior team.
To select the National players, The TNSA organized a special tournament at TCV Bylakuppe, Karnataka inviting different Tibetan football teams from India and Nepal. 14 teams across the India and Nepal took part in the tournament and participated teams are as follow :

12- Bylakuppe Young star
13- TSAM ( Madras )
14- RTYC Mysore.

The TCV Head Office took the overall responsibility of the both the teams, in terms of financing within India, organising the tournament at TCV Bylakuppe and organising coaching camp at Dharamsala.

The Match Result in Italy: Tibet Team beat Dynamo Rock Group 5-3
Under 13 Tibetan Team beat combined under 13 team Bologna City team 1-0
Special Remarks:
- There was huge media coverage on Tibetan Teams in Italy,
- The Representative of H.H. the Dalai Lama based at Switzerland Mrs Chungdak la also witnessed the Match along with the hundreds of Tibetans in Europe.
- Kasur Jetsun Pema la, the President of Tibetan Children's Villages in India was among the Guests.

TIBETAN NATIONAL TEAM TOUR TO DENMARK, SWITZERLAND AND GERMANY IN 2001
The Danish Tibet Cultural Society invited the Tibetan National Football Team to play against Greenland in June of 2001. To select the National players, the TNSA organized a special tournament at Selakui, Dehra Dun from April 14 to 20, 2001 inviting different Tibetan football teams from India and Nepal. The teams that participated in this tournament are as follow:
1- 3 Vikas (Est.22)
2- 5 Vikas (Est, 22)
3- VTC 'A' (Selakui)
4- VTC 'B' (Selakui)
5- Ravangla (Sikkim)
6- Mundgod (Mundgod)
7- Dhasa United (Dharamsala)
8- Clementown 'A' (Clementown)
9- Clementown 'B' (Clementown)
10- Dickyi Ling (Dickyiling)
11- Smash (Mussoorie)
12- Lingtsang (Lingstang)
As an outcome of this tournament, the Selection Committee so formed selected the 28 players including stand bys for the Denmark tour. However, at the last moment because of travel document problems only the below mentioned players were able to go to Denmark.

Although the Tibetan team lost the match against Greenland by 4-1 but they won the heart of the people. Many spectators broke through the gate to cheer the Tibetan players and joined them in the field while others gave standing ovation to the "Tibetan Lions" The match was followed by a press conference which was attended by some 30 media persons including from the BBC, ESPN, CNN and Radio Free Asia which gave a running commentary on the match.
The team also visited Switzerland, where they played with the Swiss Tibetan team. The national team won by 5-1. In Germany the team played with Monaco at Freiburg . The match ended in 2-1 in favor of Monaco. After this three nation tour the team finally returned India on 19th July, 2001.

The national team took part in the Aahurs Festival and played a friendly match against Hummel All Stars which we lost 8-4. Another match played in Copenhagen with the local team. The result was 4-2 in favor of them.
The initial plan was to visit France and Switzerland. At the last moment the French Embassy reject the visa to the national team.
